Café Camus – Vergangene Frankreich-Faszination

Wo heute das “May May” Essen zubereitet, direkt gegenüber dem universitären Schloss, befand sich zwischen 2006 und 2008 das Café Camus. Mit seinem französischen Charme lockte es vor allem Stundenten an. An den schweren, massiven Holztischen, die sich noch immer im Lokal befinden, ließ es sich gut lernen, der Milchcafé war deutlich günstiger als in der umliegenden Gastronomie, auch einige französische Speisen wie Crêpes bereitet Betreiber Ali Monzav dort zu.

Abendliche Veranstaltungen rundeten das Bild des Kulturcafés an der Straße “am Hof 24” ab, von kleineren Konzerten bis hin zu Stummfilmen, Lesungen und mehr. Leider fehlten im Sommer eine größere Fläche für Außengastronomie, zudem schien das Café nie so viel Publikum zu entwickeln, wie es für die Lokation nötig gewesen wäre. Mit traurigen Folgen: Das Camus konnte sich keinen dauerhaften Platz im Bonner Café-Universum sichern.
